A note to soothe us

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow
domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the
dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought
and action--
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

-- Rabindranath Tagore

  3. Yes IHM I was reading something about getting rid of fear and thought about Tagore. Our founders would have hung their head in shame at the nonsense spouted by the politicians of today.

  4. lovely quote...and relevant in these times.

    saw your query about what you can do being out of india on IHM's blog.

    To begin with can you mobilise those who are friends, neighbours in India to vote?

    can you ask pointed questions about their take on the politics of their state and get them to wake up?

    The illiterate swayed easily masses vote, The literate know-everything classes dont. Thats the sad news.
